Tom Hudson is the science and technology editor for Sky News. He is always looking to secure an exclusive. He works closely with Steve Green and Charley Temple. Because of his activism, all three follow the exploits of John Storm, feeding the public the latest breaking news, sometimes live.

Tom authorised the funds for John' rescue of Kulo Luna, the $Billion dollar whale, in return for exclusive coverage rights. Steve Green was the negotiator and roving reporter - go between on that story, having first interested Tom in the solar boat race, from Hawaii, around the world and back - where John was competing.

Sky News covered the sinking of Jonah, and Shui Razor and John Storm rescuing 'Kuna,' Kulo Luna's calf from ghost fishing nets.

Tom is enamored of the Elizabeth Swann, because the ship is so fast and silent, being solar and hydrogen powered. Tom believes that all new vessels should be zero carbon like John Storms trusty ship, for the sake of tackling acid oceans. He is a campaigner against single use plastics and glass reinforced plastic boat hulls, without passports.

Tom Hudson is a fictional character in the John Storm 'inner-space' adventure series. He is one of the background supporting characters in this Treasure Island story.

Only gold, silver and gemstones were worth anything to captains of old. The currency was easy to trade and did not corrode, so ideal to be secreted in the most inhospitable environments. Paper money is worthless, when the value can rise and fall, without anything tangible to back the promises written thereon. In the modern world, with rampant inflation and cost of living crises, we'd have to agree with the pirates.
