Cast of characters and locations in the original Treasure Island novel

Skeleton Island is an island in the Caribbean Sea where pirates are thought to have buried their treasure. Is it the subject of a map drawn by Captain Flint, carried by Billy Bones, an old buccaneer. This map is taken from the buccaneer's wooden chest by Jim Hawkins, at the Admiral Benbow, when he is looking for money to settle his mother's bill as innkeeper.

Skeleton Island has a small wooden fortress called the 'Stockade,' built by Long John Silver some years previously. Robert Louis Stevenson never identified the island, that it could be recognised today.

MAP OF SKELETON (TREASURE) ISLAND - Sir Henry Morgan visited this island on many occasions, though his plantations were in Jamaica, and he lived in Port Royal, where he enjoyed the high life. On some pirate parchments Blackbeard's Cove is marked. On modern maps only Morgan's Head is acknowledged.
