One of Jill's favorite walks in London, in between bouts of work at the Beeb.

Jill Bird is the senior anchor and news editor for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) World Service, and a long time fan of John Storm, after he rescued the wounded humpback whale; Kulo-Luna from certain death.

She has master degrees in media studies and economics. Ms Bird is concerned about the effect plastic waste will have on the blue economy, where food shortages are already causing the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people in less developed countries. She is also worried about the state of the British, and world economy, that appears to herself and many of her colleagues, to be warming the planet. Though, the BBC is politically aligned to the Monarchy, with King Charles III, as the head of state - even though that generates biased reporting - and so has to be careful not to say anything too contentious, or face the sack. The BBC operating from a Royal Charter.

These limitations did not prevent her from enthusiastically covering the Kulo-Luna story, making time slots in her news broadcasts to feature. She is the newsreader who famously dubs Kulo Luna, the '$Billion Dollar Whale.'

The BBC newswoman knows Sam Hollis, from the Trinidad Bugle and the backpacker and Youtube blogger; Marjorie Boyle.

She keeps in touch with Charley Temple and Steve Green, sharing common interests. Especially after hearing of Charley's kidnap along the river Amazon.

Jill always makes time for archaeological news items, as the closing uplift to the mostly depressing daily politics.  for snippets as to Blackbeard and Captain Henry Morgan's unrecovered treasure. He is aware of looting at archaeologically important sites like Port Royal, and the work of Blue Shield.

In this adventure, Jill is the live anchor for Sam Hollis's report from Port Royal, Jamaica, for the BBC world service and Jill Bird, as to the breaking news story, of John finding the remains of Henry Morgan, just as curious that no treasure was found. She also suspects that John is keeping his cards close to his chest on this one.

The revelations as to Charles II and James II, being slave traders, via the Royal African Company, charter of 1660, is somewhat embarrassing to the present British royals. Since, the commonwealth nations seemed to have swept that under the carpet.

Jill Bird is a fictional character in the John Storm Franchise. She is around 40 years of age, trim and dresses immaculately, in a tailored dress suit. She is always up to speed with the latest world events, with tremendous power of recall. She was born in the west country, living on a farm with her parents and grandparents until 22, but yearned to tell great stories. Ever since she uncovered a local network of corrupt politicians, working with overseas property investors to build on local greenbelt. At the time she was working as a reporter for the local Gazette. The conspiracy was not investigated, because the police were in on it. Not until Jill pushed the story all the way to the nationals, did sufficient pressure mount, for Scotland Yard, also somewhat infected with corruption, to conduct an investigation, and make a few arrests. This was her lead into international affairs.
